About Blu-H

Blu-H ASBL is a Luxembourg non-profit working to improve resilience to floods, droughts and other environmental hazards through science, data and early warning — helping communities and institutions make better decisions when it matters.

Our purpose

Blu-H exists to translate high-quality hazard science into practical, decision-ready intelligence that supports preparedness, response, and long-term resilience.

We prioritise public-interest outcomes: transparency where possible, strong safeguarding, and responsible data use — especially when working with vulnerable people or in crisis contexts.

What we do

We focus on turning complex environmental data into clear signals, maps, and alerts — and ensuring those outputs can be trusted, interpreted, and acted on.

  • Early warning & situational awareness: flood forecasting, rapid mapping and decision support.
  • Products & prototypes: practical tools that can be used by responders and communities.
  • Partnership delivery: collaborating with public agencies, NGOs, researchers and platforms.
  • Evidence-led methods: clear documentation, version control, and traceable decision-making.
  • Responsible operations: privacy-by-design and safeguarding, including clear reporting channels.
  • Learning & scaling: pilots, evaluation, and operational playbooks that can travel.

Membership (in development)

Blu-H is preparing a membership model to support long-term legitimacy and sustainability. Membership is intended as affiliation and support — not control.

  • We will maintain a member register as required by the statutes.
  • Digital systems for sign-up, payments and communications will be implemented in phases.
  • Some records will be held in separate systems for privacy and security (e.g., member data, signed documents).

Safeguarding and responsible practice

Blu-H expects to work in challenging international contexts and alongside communities impacted by hazards. We take safeguarding seriously — including clear rules for conduct, reporting, and escalation.

If you have a concern, please use the reporting channel listed on the Safeguarding page. (Add your final safeguarding URL here once published.)
