Blu-H is a Luxembourg non-profit using satellite data, modelling and community input to deliver early warning and situational awareness for floods, droughts and other environmental hazards in support of humanitarian response and resilience.
Blu-H bridges earth observation science and real-world decision-making. We combine satellite imagery, modelling and local knowledge to provide early warning and situational awareness for floods, droughts and other environmental hazards, including wildfires.
Near-real-time flood detection, mapping and early warning using satellite data and hydrological models.
Transforming complex data into clear, decision-ready insights to support planning, coordination and response by governments, NGOs and responders.
Working with national agencies, UN bodies and local organisations to support preparedness, capacity building and response.
Blu-H collaborates with humanitarian actors, scientific institutions, governments and communities at national and international levels, with an initial focus on highly vulnerable flood-prone regions, including Asia and other major river basins.
Collaboration is central to Blu-H鈥檚 mission. We work with researchers, humanitarian organisations, public agencies, and technical partners to develop, test and apply flood intelligence responsibly.
Selected documentation, workflows and tools are shared openly to enable review, learning and reuse where appropriate, while maintaining safeguards for humanitarian and public-interest contexts.
We use GitHub as an open collaboration platform.
